"It's not good if they put rules for us kids that they aren't going to follow."
The fact that teachers have been eating or going around with sweets/snacks in the corridors have made a lot of students upset, here at IES Hässelby Strand. Therefore we have now been interviewing students, teachers and the very own principal of IES Hässelby Strand, Ms. Schäfer. Are the teachers really breaking the rules, and how do the students and teachers respond to this?
“I saw my teacher holding a bag of candy outside of his classroom and I think it’s bad that the teachers walk in the corridors holding sweets/snacks because it happens that it can be very tempting for the kids.” Said anonymous, student at IES Hässelby Strand.
Another anonymous student here on IES Hässelby Strand, commented,
“So far I haven’t seen teachers walking around or eating sweets/snacks in the corridors, but I saw a bag of chocolate in one of my teachers classroom. But it would be bad if teachers would walk around in the corridors with sweets/snacks because it’s not good if they put rules for us kids that they aren’t going to follow.”

The very own principal of IES Hässelby, Ms. Schäfer confirmed,
“It happens that some of the teachers work very late some days and get very tired and there for they are allowed to eat what they like but they can definitely not walk around in the corridors eating. They can only transport the sweet/snacks from the staffroom to their teachers’ room. Sometimes it can be one of the teachers birthday and that’s why they can bring cakes to school to eat at the staffroom or teachers room. I understand that many students have to stay late sometimes for maybe native language classes and they are allowed to eat after normal school or native language classes as well, as long as they follow the rules.”
Mr. Ulrich, teacher at IES Hässelby Strand commented,
“I don’t think that any teachers would want to work here, if there are rules that says that you can’t drink or eat whatever you want at your job. As long as you don’t do it in the corridors, it should be okay.
