Last Wednesday, 16th of
November the principal of IES Hässelby Strand, Ms Schäfer told us how much
money the students and the teachers raised together during the Operation
Workday. It was a success and we raised 55 000 kronor for a school in South
Africa.
Their school is about to collapse.
It is built in a national park and those who own the national park will soon
take in wild and dangerous animals. Far away from this school, they try to
build another school. They have built one classroom there, but they don’t have enough
money to continue. IES Hässelby Strand wants to help them by giving money so
they can build the rest of the school.
Our principal worked at the
school in South Africa, and she really wants them to have a good future. “My
dream goes further that you can ever imagine” said Ms Schäfer. She also said
that we are going to get pen-pals from South Africa.
Mr Dent, 26, English teacher
at IES Hässelby Strand, said that he raised 100 kronor for the children in
South Africa and that he was glad to help. “I think education is the most
important thing a child can ever have”, he said.
Hilda Mikaelsson, 13, Student
at IES Hässelby Strand raised 200 kronor when she helped her mother at her job.
“I think that we should do this again”, Hilda said.
