What About the Rules?

By 6C Reporters: Hugo, Adam C, Adam B, Elise, Isabel

Some students dislike them. But the truth is that the most students like them and know why they exist. They know what the consequences will be if we didn’t have them. We have interviewed teachers and students at IES Hässelby what they think about the school rules.

Many students thought that the rule about not eating fruit in the common room was unnecessary. Because then you need to go outside to eat your fruit, and in the autumn it can be very cold. When we asked the teachers about that rule, they said that they had it, because every day they had to pick up fruit rests from the floor, tables, and the sofas.

Member of the student care team, Ms. Malmsköld, said, “We need to have the fruit rule a while, and then we will remove it and see if it gets better. It´s not our work to pick up the students fruit rests.”

Who can say no to that?

All the school rules are discussed before decided. But of course some rules apply in every school and that we must respect.

“Every rule has a reason,” Ms. Beljon said. (Mentor for 4a at Hässelby Strand).

After talking to some students, we figured out that Ms. Beljon is not alone of that thought. Many students actually thinks like her.
